Mount Royal University’s youth choir, Artio, explores a difficult but all too common theme—the catalyst for change that comes from the suffering of one individual.

Sparking the flames of large scale societal change, Lacrimosa draws upon the Matthew Shepard story, a brutal anti-gay hate crime, and how violence, grief, and loss can be the sad harbingers of profound and positive change. This year’s creative choral theatre work also features guest artists Mark Ikeda, Alen Chaudhry, Meghann Michalsky, and Duo Polaris.

Following its premiere at this year’s Unison Festival, Artio presents Lacrimosa to the public and you can win your way in.

The performance takes place at 2:30pm and 7:30pm on May 26, 2018 in the Nickel Theatre, Mount Royal University (4825 Mount Royal Gate SW).
