Food is always an important touchstone in cultural identity, so Lanre Ajayi swung by Minas Brazilian Steakhouse to talk about flavours of home and a sense of belonging.
With traditional cuisine from the heart of Southeast Brazil, master head chef Jose Montes offers Calgarians a taste of this Brazilian open barbecue cuisine known as rodizio.
“We’re a family owned business and we wanted to share that community feeling,” says business co-owner Carolina Lopez. “But mostly we wanted to bring a little bit of Brazil to Calgary for the people who are so far away from home to have this meal that [will allow them] to remember being in Brazil.”
Go behind-the-scenes of this unique business in the next episode of My City Speaks To Me.
