Anastasiia Plitina

I am a Calgary-based visual artist originally from Ukraine and an art teacher by background. Through painting and drawing I explore themes of nature, memory and place. My work features symbolic compositions with animals, landscapes and flowing forms inspired by the natural world. I enjoy sharing my passion for art through teaching and creative activities, and I am interested in creating artwork for public and community spaces.

We acknowledge that the land we gather on, Mohkinsstsis, is the ancestral territory of the Siksikaitsitapi — the Blackfoot people — comprising the Siksika, Kainai and Piikani Nations, as well as Treaty 7 signatories, the Tsuut’ina Nation and the Îyârhe Nakoda Bearspaw, Chiniki and Goodstoney First Nations.
