Scott Clark
Scott is a Calgary-based visual artist whose vibrant, community-driven murals have contributed to the cultural fabric of the city for over two decades. With a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Visual Communications from the Alberta University of the Arts, his practice is rooted in public art that fosters connection, optimism, and transformation.
A member of the LGBTQ+ family, his neurodivergent, autistic nature – while occasionally misunderstood in daily life – shines through his artistry.
Scott’s portfolio includes over 20 large-scale murals across Calgary, including two for the Calgary Stampede and a Legacy Mural for the Alberta Summer Games in 2023. He served as Artist-in-Residence at Antyx, a community arts non-profit, for 11 years—collaborating with diverse communities to co-create murals that reflect shared experiences and local identities.
Inspired by movements such as Fauvism, Cubism, Surrealism, psychedelic art, and queer/pop aesthetics of the 1980s, Scott’s work is known for its dynamic colour palette and dreamlike storytelling. His creative process is inclusive and flexible, prioritizing engagement, accessibility, and collaboration.
At its core, Scott’s art is about hope, resilience, and radical optimism. He believes that creativity is a powerful tool for social progress — capable of bridging divides, revitalizing spaces, and sparking meaningful dialogue. Through his art, he aims to uplift communities and reimagine public space as a place for joy, belonging, and beauty.
