January 7, 2020 Grant Investment Programs In alignment with Calgary Arts Development’s Strategic Framework, the 2020 grant investment programs contribute to fostering a sustainable and resilient arts sector through grant investments to arts organizations and artists living and working in Calgary (known as Mohkinstsis in Blackfoot). These programs will allow us to identify and work towards reducing barriers to engagement with Calgary Arts Development’s investment and arts development programs, and acknowledge and support art and artists from diverse and equity seeking communities. The community investment team is working to embed program evaluation into every stage of the investment process. The team will be actively seeking conversations and relationships within the arts sector in order to further understand and serve the needs of the community. Program evaluation allows us to better tell the story of the impact of the arts in our communities, and to design relevant investment programs that reflect artists and organizations in the city. Calgary Arts Development programs are assessed by peer committees of artists and artistic community members. If you are interested in serving as a peer assessor, or would like to nominate someone, please complete the Assessor Nomination Form. Important Changes to 2020 Programs The Individual Artist Program will not be offered in 2020. The 2018 and 2019 Individual Artist Program will be evaluated for impact and relevance. Grants to individual artists will be made through the Project Grant for Individuals and Collectives. The Organizational Access Program will not be offered in 2020. Organizations who are not currently funded through Calgary Arts Development’s Operating Grant Program may apply to the Project Grant for Organizations. Program offerings in 2021 and 2022 are pending City of Calgary budget confirmation. The OG+ Program will not be offered in 2020.
