New Banners Hit the Downtown Core Next time you’re downtown don’t forget to look up! New banners designed by Jacqueline Huskisson have been installed throughout the core. Huskisson used comics and biophilia (a love of nature) to explore the concept of home in her designs. The flowing narrative touches on her feelings of being born and raised here in Calgary. The Centre City Banner Program engages local artists to create artwork for banners displayed on light poles and bridges leading into the core, acting as gateways to Calgary’s downtown and cultural district.
