New Pathways for the Arts Guidelines Offered to not-for-profit organizations that do arts-based work in Calgary and surrounding communities, Calgary Arts Development and EmcArts partnered to run this three-year program. Based on EmcArts’ successful work with not-for-profit arts organizations around the United States, New Pathways was a carefully crafted local response to the specific and urgent needs of arts organizations. The following organizations participated in New Pathways for the Arts Calgary Phase One: Alberta Ballet Alberta Printmakers Alberta Theatre Projects Bridges Social Development Calgary Arts Development Calgary Opera Calgary Performing Arts Festival Downstage Performance Society Fairy Tales Presentation Society Honens Southern Alberta Art Gallery Swallow-a-Bicycle Theatre TELUS Spark Vertigo Theatre The following organizations participated in New Pathways for the Arts Calgary Phase Two: One-on-One Coaching: Alberta Printmakers Alberta Theatre Projects Calgary Arts Development Calgary Performing Arts Festival Downstage Performance Society Fairy Tales Presentation Society Honens Swallow-a-Bicycle Theatre Vertigo Theatre New Works Calgary Three organizations moved on to the third phase of New Pathways for the Arts in 2016. Each organization was supported to develop and prototype an innovative approach to a complex challenge and received a $25,000 innovation grant.
