Art Bus Returns for 2026!
Our Art Bus Program continues to bring public art into the everyday lives of Calgarians with a new series of 14 artist-designed buses launching in May 2026. This year the seven featured artists are Collins Amegah, Grant Little Mustache, Jae Sterling, Jillian Fleck, Kara Mains, Phoenix Ning and Sikapinakii Low Horn. Each artist created an original artwork to be wrapped on two Calgary Transit buses. Inside each bus, interior panels introduce the artist and feature examples of their work.
These Art Buses are travelling through neighbourhoods along different Calgary Transit routes and will remain on streets at least through November 2026, but the artworks often remain on the buses for longer.
The program started in 2024 with seven artists each creating an original artwork that was wrapped on one Calgary Transit bus for approximately three months starting in September 2024. In 2025, the program expanded to include 14 buses — the seven artists or artist collectives each created an original artwork that was wrapped on two buses — and ran for approximately six months starting in late May.
