New Public Art along North Central BRT

All artworks at new shelters along the North Central Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) route are now installed! This public art project features reproductions of 32 artworks by 19 local artists at 16 BRT shelters along the North Central line. Each shelter includes two artworks reproduced on glass panels.

Part of The City of Calgary’s larger North Central BRT development, the project was started in 2024 and completed in August 2025. Through this initiative, Calgary Arts Development and The City of Calgary provide a highly visible platform for local artists while integrating public art directly into transit infrastructure.

We acknowledge that the land we gather on, Mohkinsstsis, is the ancestral territory of the Siksikaitsitapi — the Blackfoot people — comprising the Siksika, Kainai and Piikani Nations, as well as Treaty 7 signatories, the Tsuut’ina Nation and the Îyârhe Nakoda Bearspaw, Chiniki and Goodstoney First Nations.
