2019 – 2022 Strategic Direction
Calgary Arts Development currently receives $6.4M from The City of Calgary each year to support the work of hundreds of arts organizations, individual artists, and arts groups. In 2017 these organizations provided over 25,000 arts events, which were attended by more than 3.3 million people—find out more at artsaction.ca.
In The City’s upcoming four-year budget, we are seeking a transformational increase to The City’s investment in Calgary’s arts sector.
An increase will foster a more sustainable and resilient arts sector, strengthen the economic, social and youth impacts of the arts for our city, and meaningfully contribute to Calgary’s identity as a vital, prosperous, connected city.
