Job Title: Booking Administrator
Location: Calgary
Full or Part Time: Full Time
Hours of Work: 36.25 hours per week
Regular/Temporary: Temporary (12 months)

Salary: $2,119.66 – $2,757.39 bi-weekly ($55,323.13 – $71,967.88/year)

Role Responsibilities

Do you have a passion for live performance? This exciting position, in a fast-paced theatre environment, might be what you are looking for! We are an enthusiastic, goal-oriented, innovative and knowledgeable team looking for you to join us!

Imagine the satisfaction felt by being able to support the administration and operation of the Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium (SAJA), a facility housing a 2,500-seat theatre, playing host to world class entertainment events in one of the busiest theatres of its kind in Canada! You will be the first and main point of contact to internal and external stakeholders wishing to utilize the SAJA’s main chamber.

Your key responsibility is programming the facility through negotiations and booking of the theatre, monitoring the day-to-day logistics, working with the Alberta Jubilee Auditorium Society, as well as coordinating details with external partners (i.e Ticketmaster, City of Calgary Park plus Parking Services). Close collaboration with your booking administrator colleague at the Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium will be required to ensure a consistent and coordinated client booking experience.

You will also engage in policy development, budgeting, planning, effective public relations, supervision and evaluation of contracts and other related duties that contribute to the effective operation of the facility.

While taking the lead from the Director, you will have the opportunity to help cover off responsibilities in an operational environment that requires availability beyond a standard Monday to Friday, nine to five environment!

Qualifications

One-year certificate in a related field plus two years related experience; or equivalent as described.

Directly related experience or education considered on the basis of: one year of experience for one year of education or one year of education for one year of experience.

Required:

  • A thorough knowledge of the live entertainment business with a focus on venue management, box office/event. ticketing, or artist touring/production.
  • Ability to make decisions independently.
  • Must be able to resolve client concerns and address issues raised on an immediate basis.
  • High level of expertise in cultural facility management.
  • Excellent public relations and problem solving skills.
  • Knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping procedures.
  • Strong computer knowledge including Microsoft Office..
  • Good communicate skills.
  • Must be able to keep information of a confidential nature with regard to bookings, client relationships, facility policy and Ministry relations.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Flexible work hours with some evening and weekend work required.
Notes

Hours of work are 36.25 hours weekly.

Please note this is a 12-month temporary position with a possibility of extension located in Calgary. This competition may be used for future consideration to fill positions in either our Calgary or Edmonton location.
