Mission
nvrlnd. is a non-profit arts organization dedicated to providing unique studios and event space to the Calgary arts community. With a mission to empower artists and challenge the traditional systems of art, nvrlnd. strives to foster a vibrant, sustainable arts community.
We are committed to collaborating with artists of multiple disciplines, thinkers and communities to help produce works that explore art, music, technology and sustainability. Qualifications
We are looking for individuals who resonate with our values, demonstrate exceptional collaboration and communication skills, and are deeply committed to fostering inclusion and equity. Expertise in strategic planning, leadership, arts administration, community involvement and financial planning will be highly valued.

Term of office: Directors serve for a term of two years.
Duties of Directors
Board members of nvrlnd. play a vital role in championing the organization’s vision and highlighting the importance of effective leadership. In addition to carrying out the typical responsibilities, board members are proactive in promoting and advocating for the organization, forging partnerships, and securing financial backing to advance nvrlnd.’s mission. The primary goals revolve around empowering artists, fostering economic sustainability, and enhancing organizational capacity. By focusing on these key objectives, board members contribute significantly to the growth and success of nvrlnd. while ensuring its continued impact in the artistic community.
Job Description:
- Prepare for, attend, and conscientiously participate in board meetings.
- Participate in one or more committees.
- Serve as an active advocate and ambassador for the organization to advance its mission and purpose.
- Leverage connections, networks, and resources to achieve nvrlnd.’s mission.
- Engage in learning opportunities to better understand the community nvrlnd. serves.
- Respect the experiences of all who bring their voices and lived experiences onto the board, in meetings and at nvrlnd.
