Main Street Sculpture

The Town of Canmore invites Alberta artists and artists living or working on Treaties 4, 6, 7, 8 or 10, to submit a proposal for a temporary public art (3D/Sculpture) installation for the intersection at 7th Avenue and 8th Street within the Main Street Pedestrian Zone in downtown Canmore. The installation can be a newly constructed or installation-ready sculpture.
The goal of this 3D/Sculpture in this location is to provide a dynamic welcoming “heart” that marks the East Entrance to Canmore’s Main Street Pedestrian Zone, offers an artistic lens that deepens Canmore’s sense of place and enhances Canmore’s reputation as a connected community of arts, culture and environmental care. Proposals should respond to the theme of community, connection and sense of place.
The selected artist(s) will be provided a maximum of $6,500 (CAD).
