Calgary Concert Opera

Calgary Concert Opera, founded in 2011, has performed 12 complete live operas in concert format, including famous works like Carmen, Rigoletto, La Traviata, and Samson et Dalila. Over 80 professional and aspiring opera singers from across Canada have participated, collaborating with groups such as the Foothills Philharmonic Opera Chorus, Rocky Mountain Symphony Orchestra, 12 Musas Flamenco, Compass Performances Studios, Calgary Civic Symphony and Toronto’s Opera by Request.

We acknowledge that the land we gather on, Mohkinsstsis, is the ancestral territory of the Siksikaitsitapi — the Blackfoot people — comprising the Siksika, Kainai and Piikani Nations, as well as Treaty 7 signatories, the Tsuut’ina Nation and the Îyârhe Nakoda Bearspaw, Chiniki and Goodstoney First Nations.
