RedPoint Media Group is seeking a digital editorial intern for a 4-month term from January 7, 2025 – April 30, 2025. This full-time contract position is an opportunity to work with award-winning publications, gain invaluable experience in the magazine/marketing industry, expand your network of contacts and develop your skills through on-the-job training.

RedPoint Media Group Inc., Avenue’s parent company, is an award-winning publishing house and content-driven marketing studio in Calgary. You’ll be joining the team that creates our in-house brand Avenue, an award-winning city lifestyle magazine. RedPoint also publishes The Scene, a monthly entertainment guide to the city, and creates custom publications for clients including the Calgary Foundation, the Alberta Cancer Foundation, Calgary Arts Development, and others.

RedPoint Media has a hybrid office setup, offering employees the opportunity to work from home or from the co-working space at CSpace Marda Loop. Some face-to-face meetings as well as event attendance may be necessary.

Our opportunity

This is an opportunity to:

  • Write, research and develop online articles for Avenue Calgary’s key topic areas.
  • Help develop and strategize new content packages based on audience development, SEO and social media strategies
  • Update existing content across RedPoint Media’s digital properties to ensure it is current, correct and optimized.
  • Take photographs for digital and social media content as well as some minimal video and video editing for social media.
  • Help transfer content from RedPoint’s print publications to its online platforms.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Our ideal candidate

As a digital content intern for RedPoint media, you are passionate about creating engaging content for online platforms, and you are able to work in a team and across teams to produce a great product.

  • Ability to write and edit effectively.
  • Some photography and videography skills.
  • Familiarity with WordPress as well as social media platforms, including Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram.
  • Familiarity with analytics and SEO best practices.
  • Very organized, with exceptional time-management skills.
  • Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program.
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada.
