About Vertigo Theatre

Vertigo Theatre is a premiere cultural institution in Calgary and has entertained audiences for over 47 years with high-quality programming. It is the only theatre in North America that produces a season based entirely in the intrigue and mystery genre. Located at the base of the Calgary Tower, the Vertigo complex is home to our administration and ticket offices, rehearsal hall, and two performance venues. We cater to a diverse audience including young adults, students, urban professionals and seniors.

About the Positions

Vertigo Theatre is seeking to expand our pool of artists for future productions in the BD&P Mystery Theatre Series.

We are seeking submissions for the following creative roles:

  • Designers, including set, sound, lighting, costume and projection
  • Assistant Designers, including set, sound, lighting, costume and projection
  • Voice and dialect coaches
  • Fight directors
  • Intimacy directors

While there are not positions immediately available, successful applicants will be eligible for consideration in upcoming seasons.

Compensation:

  • Designers will be compensated according to the fee schedule set by the associated designers of Canada
  • Fight and intimacy directors will be compensated according to the fee schedule set by the Canadian Theatre Agreement
  • Other positions will be negotiated based on the role, time commitment and experience of the successful candidates
Submissions Packages

Please include a cover letter, resume and three references. For design positions, please also include a portfolio.

Deadline to Submit: Applications will be accepted until November 30, 2024.
