Show Information

Porcelain Dolls

It’s 2012 in Calgary and Sage is the hottest nightclub for bachelorette parties. Plus, it has a really nice women’s washroom. Maybe you’ve heard of it before – Porcelain Dolls is that play that takes place in a bathroom at a bar. Have you ever wanted a sneak peek into exactly what goes on there? Join eight women as they live, laugh, love and make paper veils in Porcelain Dolls.

Performance Dates: Mar 27 – April 5, 2025, West Village Theatre
Rehearsal Schedule: Monday – Wednesday evenings, Saturday afternoons. Potential for a few Fridays as needed. Rehearsals to start after the February long weekend.

Characters:

  • Skylar, the bride. Down-to-earth outdoorsy blogger, pushover, suppresses emotions and explodes. Which makes the fact that her ex-best friend is at the bar particularly troublesome. She’s uncomfortable in the “cute” clothes.
  • Steph, the childhood friend/recently single friend. Part of the bachelorette party. Her long-term boyfriend recently left with no notice. A journalist with a secret who is currently not working in her field. Witty. Sarcastic. Feels left behind.
  • Rachel, the future sister-in-law. Part of the bachelorette party. A big old nerd. Isn’t good at big groups of people, her mom is there, she hasn’t been to a club since she met her ex. She doesn’t want to appear awkward so she’s stand-offish. And also awkward. Forms a flirty connection with Ashley.
  • Ashley, that random girl who is everyone’s bathroom BFF. Feminist, militant, artist. Best friends with Mackynzi. In a different realm, earth goddess, takes care of other women.
  • Mackyzni, the party girl. Ditzy, promo girl at Sage. Best friends with Ashley. Younger, surprisingly smart. Took a gap degree (aka four gap years) to travel, ready to start her adult life (even if it doesn’t look like it).
  • Brenda, the bride’s mother. Part of the bachelorette party. Invited to the party by the future MIL, definitely thought they were going to an essential oils store where they were making candles or something. Really wants Skylar to be happy, but can be a bit traditional when it comes to what form that takes.

**Note: All actors for Porcelain Dolls must be 18+. The roles of Melissa and Lauren are already cast.
Porcelain Dolls will be casting a swing to cover all tracks as an understudy. The swing will be guaranteed a performance.

Much Ado About Nothing

Much Ado About Nothing is synonymous with Kenneth Branagh’s Shakespearean films and we are so thrilled to put our own spin on it. Weddings are in the air, but so is gossip and deception. Much Ado About Nothing is that Shakespeare play with all the witty banter, mistaken identities, and one too many schemes thanks to a jealous Don. Join the chaos as friends, foes and lovers navigate misunderstandings, masked balls, and a whole lot of eavesdropping in this fast-paced romantic comedy.

Performance Dates: June 19 – 28, 2025, West Village Theatre
Rehearsal Schedule: Monday – Thursday evenings. Rehearsals to start in late May 2025.

**Note: the role of Beatrice is already cast and thus we will not hold auditions for that role.
