There are four streams with deadlines ranging from August 18, September 15 and 30, 2025

The Secure the BAG Grant is an initiative by the BIPOC Foundation aimed at breaking down financial barriers and fostering economic growth for Black, Indigenous and POC individuals and businesses. It is aimed at supporting projects and initiatives in arts, entrepreneurship, education and community development.

Through this grant, the foundation empowers changemakers by providing financial assistance, encouraging economic self-sufficiency, supporting cultural expression and addressing pressing social and economic challenges.

Our mission is to empower underrepresented communities by providing financial support, mentorship, and resources through grants in four key areas: CommunityEntrepreneurshipArt and Students.

  • Community Grant: This grant supports community members’ initiatives that address systemic challenges and foster unity, development and inclusivity.
  • Entrepreneurship Grant: This grant provides financial support and resources to BIPOC entrepreneurs, helping them overcome barriers and grow their businesses.
  • Art Grant: Supports BIPOC artists and creative projects that elevate cultural narratives and enhance representation in the arts.
  • Student Grant: Provides financial assistance, mentorship, and resources to BIPOC students to help them achieve their academic and professional aspirations.

Before applying, ensure you meet these eligibility criteria:

  1. Visible Minority Status: Applicants must identify as part of a visible minority group — Black or Indigenous or Person of Colour.
  2. Volunteer Experience: Applicants must have being a volunteer for an organization.
    • Submit a reference letter from an organization where you have volunteered
    • Ensure the letter includes contact information for verification purposes
  3. Event Attendance: Applicant must have attended at least two events/programs hosted by BIPOC Foundation in 2025 before submitting.
    • Provide proof of attendance (e.g., Photo of you at the event, or screenshot of the virtual event with date and time of the session)
  4. Virtual Coffee Chat: Applicants must book and attend a 15-minute coffee chat with the BIPOC Grants Team. Visit the link below to book your chat now.
  5. Entrepreneurship Grant Applicants: Entrepreneurs must have attended a BIPOC Membership Information Session prior to applying.
    • Include proof of session attendance (Photo of you at the event, or
    • Screenshot of the virtual event with date and time of the session)
  6. Document Submission: Upload required documents, including:
    • Letter of Project Intent: A brief overview of your project goals, objectives and expected impact
    • Proof of Stream Fit: Evidence that your project aligns with one of the grant categories (Arts, Entrepreneurship, Community, Student), existence of the your project, business or education status

Applications missing required documents or failing to meet eligibility criteria will not be considered.
