Lesley Hinger
Lesley Hinger (she/her/hers) is responsible for human resources, office management, general operations, policy implementation, and is a government and partner liaison for Calgary Arts Development. Prior to joining the Calgary Arts Development team in 2016, Lesley worked in fund development at the University of Calgary and has held numerous positions with some wonderful arts organizations including Calgary Opera, the Boston Youth Symphony Orchestras, and Spiritus Chamber Choir.
Lesley composes noisy classical-ish chamber music, and holds a Doctorate of Musical Arts in Composition from Boston University. Her works have been performed across North America and Europe, and she co-founded the Boston-based Acoustic Uproar concert series. Lesley is also a sessional instructor of music theory and composition at the University of Calgary, and is the co-artistic director of New Works Calgary.
In her spare time she is passionate about movies, live music, Beyoncé, and her cat Paul. She’s also learning how to sew her own clothes and tend her small balcony garden, and is a volunteer caregiver for rescued dogs and cats at the Alberta Animal Rescue Crew Society.
