Carifest
Annual event celebrates Caribbean culture, diversity, music, and cuisine
Enjoy the sound, music, and food from the island paradise! Lanre Ajayi recently swung by Carifest, an annual celebration that shines the spotlight on Caribbean culture.
Hosted by the Caribbean Community Council of Calgary, the event featured international guest artists Machel Montano, Alison Hinds, and Patrice Roberts alongside masqueraders, bands, deejays, and, of course, a stunning parade.
“This two-day event features some spectacular artists all the way from the Caribbean and there’s going to be a lot of activities packed in— the food, the music, the colourful display of costumes…” exclaims Ajayi. “This festival features lots of fun and fanfare with great and amazing artists from all over the Caribbean.”
Tune into the next episode of My City Speaks To Me to get a glimpse of this colourful festival.
