Lanre Ajayi checks out Alberta’s most explosive festival with My City Speaks To Me
Alberta’s most explosive one-of-a-kind multicultural festival, GlobalFest brings together a lineup of stunning pyrotechnics alongside multi-faceted arts and cultural programming.
Showcasing Calgary’s cultural diversity and artistic excellence, Lanre Ajayi swung by to explore the festival, talk to volunteers, visit vendors, meet performers, and get a taste of the delicious eats.
“GlobalFest is designed as an inclusive, world-class, multi-faceted arts and culture festival that will enhance Alberta’s reputation as a true international destination to bring people together around cultural similarities and differences,” says Ajayi. “This is more than just fireworks as local restaurants and groups, all over the park, pull out all the stops to bring you the most delicious international cuisine you’ll ever try.
“It is also a venue to celebrate Canada’s multicultural lifestyle in an atmosphere of live music, of local groups from around the world.”
Each year, GlobalFest celebrates the heritage of more than 60 cultures with a variety of events and activities that highlight Calgary’s diversity and support cross-cultural respect.
