Good Host Program Lead
Seeking applications for Good Host program lead at Inside Out Theatre.
Deadline to Apply: June 1, 2021
About Inside Out Theatre
We are a Deaf and disability theatre company in sunny Calgary, with a mission to nurture belonging, cultural vibrancy, and agency through Deaf and disability arts and culture.
We produce and present plays that showcase the vibrancy of Deaf and disability culture. We offer community-based drama programs that nurture a sense of belonging and provide an antidote to social isolation.
And we work to improve theatre’s accessibility for audience members and to ensure their equity and dignity in attending performing arts in Calgary.
About the Good Host Program
The Good Host Program strives to create and nurture an informed, accessible cultural community. We want to equip our partners with the tools to form deeper commitments to the communities we serve on an individual and organizational level. To do this, we are offering rich and comprehensive engagement services that can deepen understanding of Deaf and disability culture from the inside out.
Previous to 2021, the Good Host Program worked exclusively with performing arts organizations to host ASL interpreted performances, relaxed performances, and touch tours and audio described performances. Over the last year we have added new depth to the Good Host program and have begun working across creative industries to offer more accessible events, new accessibility services, consultation services, workshops, and experience-based audits.
The Role: Good Host Program Lead
Schedule and Location Expectations
The Good Host program lead is a full-time, 35 hours per week position. All staff are currently working from home, although we anticipate a gradual return to in-person work to our venue in Eau Claire Market in downtown Calgary in the fall of 2021. Some evening and weekend work is required, depending on programming and event scheduling.
Start date would be a negotiable date in June 2021.
Compensation: $40,000 annually with health benefits.
