Account Manager, Corporate Partnerships

The account manager, corporate partnerships will have the primary responsibilities for cultivating and stewarding relationships with companies in all of Alberta Ballet’s key communities.

This position will drive revenue for Alberta Ballet by building a pipeline of corporate partners and sales revenue through corporate ticket sales, client hosting and sponsorship.

Key Deliverables/Responsibilities

  • Enhance the profile of Alberta Ballet Company as a premier provincial institution for corporate partners and sponsors through business-to-business sales and prospect research.
  • Act as a client advocate in the representation of sponsor interests with team members and other departments at Alberta Ballet.
  • Partner with others throughout the organization to identify, conceptualize, develop, and leverage Alberta Ballet assets.
  • Work closely with the marketing, artistic, and other relevant departments to support the development of corporate sales strategies and plans.
  • Steward relationships with existing corporate partners and develop relationships with new partners.
  • Manage a portfolio of corporate sponsor relationships, as well as work jointly on relationships and projects with other team members.
  • Promote Alberta Ballet as an opportunity for corporate partners to provide employee engagement.
  • Generate new business leads from cold calling, prospect research, and industry networking.
  • Create, manage and deliver stewardship packages and proposals with a thorough knowledge of Alberta Ballet’s ability to deliver client benefits.
  • Lead the planning and execution of on-site sponsor activities.

Qualifications & Key Competencies

  • Passionate about making communities better.
  • Degree or diploma in business, commerce, marketing or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in sponsorship sales, B2B and B2C sales.
  • Highly motivated and ambitious.
  • Strong business acumen and market awareness.
  • Experience using and working in multiple marketing and communications mediums.
  • Team player with excellent communication skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of Office365 applications.
  • Previous experience maintaining data within a CRM or database system (Blackbaud preferred).
  • A proven relationship builder both internally and externally.
  • A confident and tactful approach with the ability to deal with a wide variety of people and with changing internal and external conditions.
  • Pragmatic and effective problem solver.
  • Will be required to complete a police background check as a condition of employment.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Travel within Alberta is required.

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements

This job is performed in the office and requires frequent sitting (often working on a computer), frequent walking, standing, bending, and reaching. Due to computer usage, there may be repetitive motions of the hands and wrists.

Work hours are typically 9:00am to 5:00pm, Monday through Friday. However, as a performing arts organization, there will be projects and pursuits that may require time above and beyond the typical work schedule including evening and weekends.

You are expected to comply with all safety regulations.
