Community Arts Coordinator
Calgary Arts Academy is a public charter school for students in Kindergarten to Year 12 with the mandate of teaching the Alberta curriculum though the unique lens of arts immersion. We are currently seeking to fill a 0.5 position to be located at our Education Centre on Stampede Park.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Coordinating school performances including the annual jubilee performance involving the entire school, year 8/9 Vertigo Theatre performance, and Year 9 and 12 graduation ceremony.
- Organizing special events in the school and for school related community events.
- Facilitating and maintaining community partnerships including acting as liaison with Calgary Stampede.
- Working closely with CAA Society Board and CAA foundation board.
Qualifications and Skills:
- University degree in a relevant field.
- Previous experience facilitating projects and working collaboratively with others.
- Knowledge and understanding of public charter schools and specifically Calgary Arts Academy.
- Broad arts perspective and values the importance of the arts.
- Diverse community connections and previous work with community organizations.
- Exemplary interpersonal skills; ability to develop and maintain meaningful relationships within the school and in the community.
- Confident presence; comfortable public speaker; positive energy; open to possibilities
Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
