Black & BIPOC Voiceover Actors
Hello! We are looking for local voiceover (VO) actors for a Deaf-led short video animation project by Ebony Gooden that is being supported by Alberta Foundation of the Arts and Canada Council of the Arts. The animation is about her experiences as a Black Deaf person communicating with hearing people over her lifetime. Accessibility will be provided during interviews and voice recording sessions.
Black actors are needed for most roles while #4 is flexible. BIPOC voiceover actors are encouraged to apply—we would love to have you participate. Roles #4 and #5 will be filmed in person for rotoscoping materials following COVID limited indoors gathering protocols. Please only apply if you are comfortable with being filmed and recorded in person with our team for role #4 and #5.
- Female youth – flexible age – 18+
- Female adult – flexible age – 18+
- Male adult – flexible age – 18+
- Male Adult – flexible age – 18+
- Female adult – flexible age – 18+
Each actor will have multiple roles that will take about 30 minutes to one hour per role.
The pay rate is $70/hour.
We may have two separate sessions for each role. Recording sessions will take place either at a studio or over the internet pending COVID guidelines set forth by ACTRA and Alberta Health Services.
