Fort Calgary is recruiting for a permanent full-time youth programs manager. This exciting role will be responsible for the design, implementation, and evaluation of K-12 education programs, camps programs, and the activation of a youth advisory council at Fort Calgary. This position will also provide daily supervision for youth program staff and oversee all administrative capacities for youth programs.

What will you do?
- Develop, implement, and champion educational frameworks and program development for on-site and outreach programs for K-12 and youth audiences.
- Produce and manage innovative educational programs working with schools to meet curriculum and educator needs.
- Responsible for the operations of all seasonal youth programming, including school workshops, summer camps, spring break camps and day camps.
- Responsible for program development and updates, including research and consultation for new programs.
- Work closely with educators, administrators, and community members to develop content, and work with consultants.
- Identify community learning needs and trends and work with the content team and chief of creative experience to identify new opportunities to work with schools and community partners and develop education-based learning programs.
- Responsible for hiring, training, coaching and supervision of museum educators and camp staff, providing ongoing feedback for best practices in workshop facilitation and customer service.
- Lead the development of training modules for the team of Fort Calgary educators delivering learning content.
- Develop relationships with educators to support revenue-generating activities and bookings.
- Manage program budgets and resourcing for all programming needs.
- Collaborate with the communications team to develop marketing materials.
- Project management of grant-based work, including writing program narratives, program implementation, data collection and reporting.
What do I need to succeed?
- Bachelor’s Degree in a field relevant to museum work, humanities, education, cultural heritage, history, or similar lived experience.
- Basic knowledge of local Indigenous communities and the history of settler-colonialism and Fort Calgary
- Minimum 3 years experience supervising teams of informal learning educators, particularly in leading large groups of children in an informal learning environment.
- Experience in research and development of innovative programs for all types of learners and for various settings and topics.
- Knowledge and interest in local and Canadian history and Indigenous relations.
- Ability to communicate effectively with others, be self-motivated and maintain an expected level of professionalism.
- Ability to present to groups and influence relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to develop and maintain strong professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders and work effectively with all levels of employees is critical.
- Ability to collaborate with Indigenous people and communities and maintain these relationships between programs.

Salary range for this position is $50,000-$59,000 plus benefits.
