Scripts on Fire
New Play Competition
Fire Exit Theatre exists to create conversations around faith; what you believe and don’t believe about God and death and life and all that happens in between. We believe that everyone is on a spiritual journey, whether they know it or not.
We want to hear your stories around this theme.
And…What just happened? Did the world change forever? Were we really all in it together?
Art, at its best, helps us make sense of the senseless. To ask hard questions. To ruminate and to heal. We are so looking forward to hearing what the creators have been creating, the stories the storytellers need to tell.
The competition is open to full-length (no less than 80 mins) plays written by residents of Canada. Entry is limited to one submission per author. The script must be written in English. The script must be original. Adaptations of other works will not be accepted. Musicals will not be accepted.
Copyright remains with the author. The script must be accompanied by a non-refundable $25 CDN entry fee.
Adjudication will be completed by three independent jurors. The jurors’ decisions are final. All scripts will be judged anonymously. Identity of the playwrights is withheld from jurors until final winners are decided.
