Apply for the CAAF Studio Residency
The CAAF Residency is offered by the Calgary Allied Art Foundation (CAAF) — a non-profit organization that supports and encourages the development of artists in Calgary. The residency program offers studio space and funding to allow emerging artists to explore their creative practice and to work on a project they might not otherwise be able to undertake.
The studio is located on the fourth floor of cSPACE King Edward, a multidisciplinary “arts incubator.” A home to artists, nonprofits and innovators, cSPACE is an arts hub offering ample opportunity for networking with other artists, like-minded individuals and groups. The CAAF Residency also provides residents with excellent opportunities to exhibit their work, host open studios and engage with the community.
Residencies are offered in two- or three-month durations with a fee of $700/month paid to artists upon completion of the residency. All residents are required to purchase an annual membership to CAAF; $20 will be taken from the stipend to pay for the membership. We are unable to supply travel stipends or grant assistance for out-of-town artists.
CAAF is committed to a diverse, inclusive and equitable community where all staff, volunteers and artists feel valued and respected regardless of gender, race, ethnicity, national origin, age, sexual orientation or identity, education or disability. We are committed to accommodating all applicants to the best of our ability and will work with applicants who experience barriers.
Please contact caafresidency@gmail.com for support.

All artists selected for the CAAF Residency are expected to undertake this opportunity professionally, respecting the studio space and their neighbours while acting as a representative of CAAF.
