Jeff Barnaby Grant
Netflix and imagineNATIVE have announced the Jeff Barnaby Grant in honour of his contributions to Indigenous narrative sovereignty, genre film and Canadian cinema.
The Jeff Barnaby Grant was created to honour the late Jeff Barnaby’s creative legacy and to recognize his tremendous and visionary contributions towards Indigenous Narrative Sovereignty, Genre Film and Indigenous Cinema. The grant is funded through Netflix’s Fund for Creative Equity in memory of the contributions that Barnaby made through his participation in the company’s Advancing Voices program.
The Jeff Barnaby Grant is available for five Indigenous film + television creatives across Canada with productions at any stage in the horror + thriller + futurism genre.
The selection committee for this grant will comprise members from Jeff Barnaby’s Indigenous creative community.
Each selected recipient will receive $25,000 to support their projects.
Eligibility:
- First Nations, Inuit or Metis film + television creatives located in Canada.
- A film or series project in the Horror, Thriller or Futurism genre.

- A breakdown of how you plan to use the $25,000 grant funds for your project
