Honour Dance for Creation

Earth Day 2023

This is an open invitation for any climate artists, advocates and activists ages 19+ to participate in a collective art-making project to raise awareness about endangered species in Canada. Facilitated by accomplished First Nation nehiyaw iskwew (Cree) artist Sandra Lamouche, participants will make artwork or puppets to honour an endangered species of their own choosing. We will record an honour dance together for a video to be shared on Earth Day 2023.

Please note that it is asked that participants attend all three sessions. If you are not able to do so for whatever reason, please reach out to the organizing artist at sandraiskwew@gmail.com

Dates:

  • April 4, 2023, 5 – 6pm MT
  • April 11, 2023 5 – 6pm MT
  • April 18, 2023 5 – 6pm MT
