Engagement Company and outside Dates

This show will play in two cities as a joint production. The outside dates are as follows:

  • Vertigo Theatre (Calgary): Rehearsals begin January 28, 2025; travel dates to Winnipeg TBD.
  • Prairie Theatre Exchange (Winnipeg): Opens February 28, 2025; closes March 9, 2025; travel dates to Calgary TBD.
  • Vertigo Theatre (Calgary): Opens March 20, 2025; closes April 13, 2025.
Production Description

When a famous food critic dies at Fate, the hottest new 5-star restaurant, only detective Lucia Dante can solve the case. This World Premiere of a Canadian play introduces a new legend of crime solving in a fast-paced and intense whodunnit mystery.

Roles to be Cast

  • Lucia Dante/Isabella: Rogue Woman age 30-50
    Lucia Dante: World-famous detective. No one has ever captured a picture of her. She is strong, analytical, fiercely intelligent, and has a wry sense of humour.
  • Isabella Rouge: World-famous fashion designer. Fun, sprightly, and full of life. In this play, she is an AI (artificial intelligence) recreation of the original Isabella Rouge.
  • Actor 2: Multiple roles, Man age 30-50This actor will play multiple roles, including but not limited to: Sebastian, the chef and owner of Fate; Armand, a billionaire; Prism, a VR developer, entrepreneur, and hacker; Hunter, the head waiter at Fate; Dominic, the sous-chef at Fate; Drew, a dishwasher at Fate; Richard Carlyle, a food critic; Captain Sinclair, the chief of police; and a police officer.

Audition Dates:

  • In Calgary: Thursday, March 28, 2024.
  • In Winnipeg: Monday, May 6, 2024. A separate audition call will be posted.
Casting Process

Selected candidates will be provided with scenes to work from during the auditions.

Vertigo Theatre has a responsibility to create work spaces where people are comfortable in a creation process, and can be themselves in every capacity. For Calgary auditions, please submit packages through the following link by 11:59pm on Sunday, March 10, 2024 surveymonkey.com.

*We will not be collecting hard copies of headshots and resumes at the audition. The audition panel will receive them all electronically.
