Artist Residency in Central Alberta
Buttermaker House, Markerville
Rates: $420 per week
The Buttermaker House is a new artist residency in the central Alberta community of Markerville. The house is an antique family home lovingly restored by volunteers as a part of a larger effort of cultural preservation and community building. The house has a bedroom, living room, kitchen, bathroom and office. It sits on an idyllic property bordered by a meandering river and tall trees. An active and vibrant community welcomes you to community coffee hour year round and to concerts and art crawls throughout the year.
It’s an ideal place to rest, nourish your creative spirit, and create new work.
Rates are $420 per week.
Residencies are from one week to three months. Costs range from $420 for a week to $1,800 for one month. Residents are responsible for their own transportation to Markerville, all food, toiletries and artistic supplies. Towels and bedding will be provided.
