Assistant Producer

The Festival of Animated Objects is seeking a student candidate for the role of assistant producer to help bring our 13th festival to life. This position runs from January 22 to March 31, 2024 with a compensation of $24/hour and an anticipated weekly commitment of 10 hours per week. The Assistant Producer will report directly to our managing producer, Cosmo Christoffersen.

The deadline to submit for this position is December 28, 2023, with interviews to follow in early January.

Responsibilities:

  • Event Support: working with the managing producer to ensure success of live events, including but not limited to overseeing technical requirements and communicating with artists and venues. These include the Festival Lineup Launch on February 10 and the 13th Festival of Animated Objects taking place March 11 – 24, 2024.
  • Volunteer Management: supporting the volunteer coordinator to carry out the recruitment and scheduling of FAO volunteers.
  • Documentation and Archival: working alongside the marketing coordinator to document the programming in the 13th Festival of Animated Objects and keep social media channels and website up-to-date.
  • Grant Assistance: proofreading grant applications.

Qualifications:

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbally.
  • Experience work in film and/or theatre is an asset.
  • Experience in arts administration or producing live events is an asset.
  • A valid driver’s license is an asset.
