Auditions for The Gondoliers
Auditions for Morpheus Theatre’s The Gondoliers are being held January 15, 16 and 17, 2024.
The Gondoliers, a comic operetta by Gilbert & Sullivan, is directed by Sean Anderson, with musical direction by Winnifred Hume and choreography by Mya Swedberg. Performances will take place at the Pumphouse Theatre from April 26 to May 2, 2024.
Open auditions for all roles will take place:
- Monday, January 15, 2024 (7 – 9pm)
- Tuesday, January 16, 2024 (7 – 9pm)
- Wednesday, January 17, 2024 (7 – 9pm)
Auditions at Morpheus Rehearsal Centre at 3512 5th Ave. NW (lower level).Callbacks if required, will be on Saturday, January 20 from 1 to 5pm.
Audition Requirements:
- Auditions for The Gondoliers will take place in person in 10-minute time-slots.
- Please prepare a song (approximately 2 minutes long) in any style that best shows off your voice. No matter what style of music you choose to sing, bring your best character performance to your audition song!
- Bring your music on your phone, or email in advance to info@morpheustheatre.ca. There will be no accompanist.
- You may be asked for a range check.
- Auditioners are asked to complete an online audition form, with an acting resume and headshot.
- Selected auditioners will be requested to attend an in-person callback to read, sing and dance with other performers.
Rehearsal and Performance Requirements:
Rehearsals will be Monday/Wednesday evenings from 7 to 10pm and Saturday afternoons from 1 to 5pm starting January 27, 2024.
