Thank you for your interest in becoming a board director with SheDJs Global! As a budding non-profit organization dedicated to promoting and supporting female and minority DJs worldwide, we rely on passionate individuals like yourself to help drive our mission forward. Below, you’ll find an overview of the general tasks, time commitment, and expectations associated with this volunteer position.
General Tasks:
- Strategic Planning: Collaborate with fellow board members to develop and implement strategic initiatives that align with our organization’s mission and vision.
- Governance: Participate in board meetings to discuss organizational matters, review financial reports, and make decisions regarding the direction of SheDJs Global.
- Fundraising: Actively contribute to fundraising efforts by identifying potential donors, assisting with grant applications, and cultivating relationships with sponsors.
- Advocacy and Outreach: Serve as a representative of SheDJs Global within the DJ community and beyond, advocating for gender equality and promoting our programs and events.
- Program Development: Contribute ideas and support the development of programs and initiatives aimed at empowering female DJs, such as mentorship programs, workshops, and networking events.
- Networking: Utilize your professional network to connect SheDJs Global with potential partners, sponsors, and collaborators.
Time Commitment
Board Meetings: Attend quarterly board meetings, either in person or virtually, depending on your location and availability. Meetings typically last 1 – 2 hours.
Committee Work: Depending on your interests and expertise, you may be asked to join one or more board committees (e.g., fundraising, programming, marketing). Committee meetings may occur separately from board meetings and typically require an additional time commitment of 1 – 2 hours per month.
Events and Activities: Support SheDJs Global events and activities as needed, which may include attending conferences, hosting workshops, or participating in fundraising events. Time commitment for events varies based on your level of involvement and the nature of the event.
Volunteer Position
Non-Paid: Please note that this is a volunteer position, and board members do not receive monetary compensation for their service.
