The Alberta Society of Artists (ASA) is seeking a dedicated and skilled volunteer to join our board as treasurer. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with financial expertise who is passionate about supporting Alberta’s vibrant arts sector.
Key Responsibilities of the Treasurer:
- Provide financial oversight and advice to Provincial Council.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and reporting requirements. ASA is a provincially incorporated society and a federally registered charity.
- Support the accounting technician (contracted) who manages ASA’s day-to-day accounting cycle.
- Facilitate the annual audit process to ensure accurate and timely completion of the independent audit firm’s work.
- Oversight in preparation of the annual budget to ensure it aligns with ASA’s strategic priorities and operational needs.
- Collaborate in grant applications process to ensure financial data is available.
