Board of Directors Secretary Position Open
The Tri-Tone Rhythm Society operates to preserve and promote the culture of tap dance, musicians, and rhythm enthusiasts. Removing all barriers and building on generations of history, the art of tap dance is now alive and thriving in the city of Calgary.
The main event of the Trip-Tone Rhythm Society is the Rhythm, Body and Soul Festival; an annual event that offers beginner to advanced master classes, concerts, and community events with international tap dance masters, jazz musicians, and body percussion masters. Throughout the year the Tri-Tone Rhythm Society focuses on local performances, tap jams, masterclasses and selling or renting tap floors that open up more community performance venues for emerging to professional tap dancers.
The board of directors is currently looking for a new secretary to attend monthly board meetings and take notes, keep track of deadlines and delegated tasks, collaborate on agenda items, track society membership, and other administrative duties as needed. The secretary works closely with Artistic Director, Tasha Lawson, and communicates regular with the other board members through email. This position would be a great fit for someone who wants board experience and is interested in volunteering in a wide variety of positions.
Training for this position will be provided by outgoing Secretary, Alicia Ward, in a transition period up to five months. All interested candidates are encouraged to email warda@shaw.ca with their resume.
