Call for Artists Community Event
On Saturday, August 26th, Alpine Park is hosting a Rock the Block community event. We are looking for artists to participate in our first-ever Art Challenge Activation.
We will have 10 spots available for artists to create a piece of art in their chosen medium during the event, winners will be chosen via attendee vote and awarded a cash prize. The theme is “Feels Like Home” – artists can interpret this in any way they choose.Date: August 26, 2023Time: 1 – 4pmLocation: Alpine Park Community, Picnic Grove Park, Treeline View SW & Treeline Ave. SW
Timeline:
- 1 – 2pm: Art Piece Creation*
- 2 –3:45pm: Voting and viewing
- 3:55pm: Winners announced
*If artists need longer than 1 hour to create they can start between 12pm and 1pm
- 1st Place $500
- 2nd Place $300
- 3rd Place $200
Voting:
- Attendees will cast their vote via ballot
- Ballots will be tallied and prizing will be awarded according to the top three (3) highest votes
Additional Details:
The event is taking place outdoors, rain or shine.
Artists are responsible for bringing their own supplies and setup needs (i.e. easel, chair, mat/canvas for underneath their creation area). A small stipend will be provided to all accepted artists to help cover the cost of their supplies.
Images of artist portfolio samples will be required
