Call For Black Public Artists and Black Public Art Curators
Oddside Arts
Archiving Black Futures: Revisioning Public Art is a research initiative led by Oddside Arts and supported by Sabrina Richard of Bespoke Collective. This project emerges from a need to address the barriers of Black artists from Canada’s public art sector— specifically, permanent visual artworks.
We’re looking for Black artists and curators (emerging, mid-career and established) from Ontario, British Columbia, Quebec, Nova Scotia and Alberta to share their lived experiences navigating the public art sector in Canada through focus groups.
We especially want to hear from Black public artists who are:
- Afro-Indigenous
- Transgender
- Newcomers
- Francophone / French-speaking
- Early-career
- Youth
