New Works Calgary

We are seeking board members to allow our community to continue to flourish, transform and grow.

We need to fill our treasurer position, so if you are good with numbers, we are looking for you!

We would also love to have business-minded individuals from outside the arts to help shape our board and bring new ideas to the table. Here are a few of our recent activities!

A lovely podcast called The Drop & The Turning (in partnership with CJSW Radio, hosted by rebecca bruton, all about experimental music, ecology, and social practice). You can listen here!

Digital Publication

We host a gorgeous digital publication called Traceries, where we house articles and interviews by
our Journalist Marketing Coordinator, as well as digital mixtapes compiled by featured artists. Take a look here.

Soundwalking

We’ve grown our soundwalking series to encompass one soundwalk per month, each hosted by a different local or visiting artists. These are always free, and a great way to get outdoors, attentive, and moving amidst our beautiful natural urban spaces.

  • February 2023: Device for listening to snow falling a participatory outdoor performance created and facilitated by Caitlind RC Brown and Wayne Garrett
  • March 2023: Le Desert Mauve – a new experimental opera by composer Nour Symon Henry based on the novel Le Désert Mauve by Nicole Brossard
