Call for Board of Directors

The Calgary Society of Independent Filmmakers (CSIF) is  looking to fill some board member positions at our Annual General Meeting on Sunday, July 16, 2023.

Here’s the Details and how to Apply

The Board of Directors has a direct impact on the success of CSIF by:

  • Fulfilling the governance responsibilities associated with our status as a non-profit society.
  • Ensuring that programming and events align with our Mission, Vision, and Values.
  • Developing and implementing strategies for sound ethical and legal governance and financial management.
  • Participating in and supporting CSIF’s fundraising initiatives.

What would you do as a board member?

  • Prepare for and participate in monthly board meetings (2-3 hours/month).
  • Attend as many CSIF events and programs as possible.
  • Sit on or chair at least one CSIF committee (2-6 hours a month).
  • Sit on the board for a period of 2 years.
  • Gain an in-depth knowledge of CSIF.
  • Gain new skills in leadership and management.

Qualified applicants should:

  • Have a CSIF membership in good standing.
  • Have a passion and desire to see CSIF grow.
  • Want to support independent filmmakers in Southern Alberta.
  • Be able to commit to the responsibilities outlined above.

Welcome (but not required) professional experience includes: Legal, financial, HR, past board experience, or any other skill set that would advance the goals of CSIF. Preferred candidates embody CSIF’s values of mentoring, diversity and community building.
