Call for Board of Directors Treasurer
Handsome Alice, an award-winning non-profit theatre company committed to amplifying women’s voices and promoting artistic excellence, is seeking a new treasurer for its board of directors.
As a cornerstone of Calgary’s cultural community, we have been consistently recognized by Betty Mitchell Awards, Critics Choice Awards, and FFWD Weekly Readers’ Choice Award nominations.
Our treasurer plays a vital role in preserving our mission and facilitating our vision to be a performance hive where big ideas meet creation. The treasurer will manage the company’s finances, including maintaining bank accounts, overseeing all financial transactions, and regularly reporting to the board of directors, ensuring our financial activities align with bylaws and regulations.
Ideal candidates would hold a degree or diploma in financial accounting, or have comparable experience, specifically in budgeting and record-keeping for non-profits. Preference will be given to those with a professional accounting designation (CA, CMA, CGA). In this role, you will have the opportunity to support diverse ideas, art forms, and communities, while embodying best business practices and responsible board governance.
