Deadline: November 5, 2025

The GGArts recognize up to eight artists each year. Six awards recognize artistic achievements, one award recognizes an exceptional fine craft artist (Saidye Bronfman Award) and one award recognizes an outstanding contribution to contemporary visual arts, media arts or fine crafts.

  • Value: Up to eight awards of $25,000 each
  • How to nominate: Candidates must be nominated by specialists from Canada in visual arts, media arts or fine craft. Nominators may be an individual, a group of co-nominators or the representative of an organization. Nominations must be submitted through the online portal, where you can also access the guidelines.
  • Deadline: November 5, 2025

For the first time, prize nominations and applications will be submitted through a funding portal. This marks an exciting shift towards a more streamlined, accessible and user-friendly experience for everyone engaging with the Canada Council for the Arts and its programs.

Visit the Guidance and Resources page for step-by-step instructions on common portal activities, including how to create your account and how to apply for funding, apply or nominate someone for a prize.
