Starting on October 2, 2020, applications will be accepted for service on the 2020/21 Contemporary Calgary Arts Society board of directors.

The election of the board takes place during the annual general meeting on November 20, 2020. In order to participate in and vote at the AGM, members must have an active membership by October 23, 2020. Official notice of the AGM will be sent to members on October 29, 2020.
The governance, HR, and nominating committee appreciates your participation in nominating energetic individuals who are qualified to assume a leadership role on the board of directors of Contemporary Calgary. Please note these are volunteer positions.
Nomination Process
Eight (8) directors will be elected to a two-year term on November 20, 2020, joining eight (8) directors currently midway through their term.
If eight or more candidates apply, the board will select the nominees for election by the membership. If less than eight candidates apply, the membership may consider nominations from the floor of the meeting.

Applications must be received by October 23, 2020, at 9:00am. Late submission will not be accepted.
Qualifications
In order to qualify, candidates must be:
- Members of Contemporary Calgary by October 23, 2020.
- At least 18 years old.
- Nominated by two fellow members of the society.
We seek directors who reflect the diversity of Calgary, who are passionate about the arts, and who have leadership in the following areas: art education, history, pedagogy or practice; communications; equity and inclusion; finance; fundraising; governance; project management; strategic planning; and law.
Ideal candidates will share a passion to achieve Contemporary Calgary’s vision, be able to meet the time commitments of serving as a Director, provide stewardship of the organization and contribute to community engagement and fundraising.

Roles and Responsibilities
The elected board determines who will serve as officers of the society and who will serve on board committees, which include: finance and audit; governance, HR and nominating; equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility; fundraising; and government relations.
Directors are expected to attend 10 board meetings per year and must serve on at least one committee of the board.
