The Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra (CPO) is a pillar of Calgary’s vibrant arts community and since 1955, has grown to be one of Canada’s most celebrated live music ensembles. Each Season, the CPO presents classical masterworks, pop favourites, bold collaborations, and cutting-edge new works.
Led by Music Director Rune Bergmann, the CPO consistently attracts world-renowned guest artists and dynamic conductors. The Orchestra welcomes over 100,000 visitors annually and, in 2017, launched its live-stream initiative—an immersive, digital concert experience for audiences around the world.
The Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra is looking for a part-time Sales Assistant to join its Marketing & Sales team. The candidate must demonstrate the core values of the CPO with particular emphasis on professionalism, sound judgment, and ethics.
The Sales Assistant is an integral member of the Marketing + Sales Team providing ticket sales and service to patrons at the CPO Box Office in The CORE Shopping Centre. The Sales Assistant reports to the Associate Director, Sales. This is a part-time position paid hourly.
Responsibilities:
- Communicate with patrons, both in person and by telephone, in a positive and professional manner providing the highest level of customer service.
- Work directly with customers to facilitate orders using the CPO’s online ticketing system.
- Data entry and filing, some cash handling and other administrative duties as required.
Desired Qualifications:
- Proven customer service skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Aptitude for dealing with customers in a patient, positive manner.
- Capable of functioning in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and in a team.
- Knowledge of ticketing systems an asset.
- Experience in a not for profit or performing arts organization would be an asset.
- Interest in classical music and/or arts and culture.
Additional Details
This is a part-time position, paid at $16 per hour.
Shift: Saturday from 11:00am – 3:00pm, with potential for additional evening/office shifts
