Craft/Gallery Sales Representative
Position: Part-time, $22/hr based on 20-25 hrs/week subject to season
We seek a passionate and customer-oriented craft/gallery sales representative who deeply appreciates Inuvialuit art. This individual will excel in delivering exceptional customer service, demonstrating attention to detail, engaging with guests on an emotional level and maintaining high professionalism.
The ideal candidate will have the following combination of education, experience and knowledge:
- Retail experience working in jewelry, fine arts, visual arts, design or creative art-related settings.
- Past or presently enrolled in an arts degree program with a focus on Indigenous art will be highly considered.
- Ability to engage anyone in conversation, positive attitude, friendly demeanour and provide outstanding customer service in person or by phone/email.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Provide an informative sales approach that includes custom orders and shipping information.
- Genuine interest in and enthusiasm for Indigenous art, particularly that of the Inuvialuit settlement region.
- Memorization of key information on the artists, medium and history of the Inuvialuit.
- Creative visual flair for design and staging of various crafts and art throughout the gallery.
- Ability to lift 10-15 kgs and climb up onto a step ladder.
- Responsible, professional, punctual,. and reliable personality.
- Tech savvy, comfortable learning new software and familiar with various media applications.
- Evenings and weekend hours will be required and will vary depending on the season.
Priority given to beneficiaries of the Inuvialuit Final Agreement.
