MC Creators Camps

Market Collective

Dates: August 2024

MC Creators Camp is borne of the belief that kids deserve a space to grow their creative identity. Why? Because kids have BIG ideas that should be explored safely, skillfully, playfully and with the support of an encouraging (and cool) creative mentor.

As parents ourselves, we understand the value of a camp that provides a safe, inclusive space to foster creative ideas, build friendships, grow self-esteem and, most importantly, to have fun.

In its inaugural year, MC Creators Camp will host two consecutive weeks of creative programming led by talented, successful, skilled artist mentors, who will work alongside youth in developing their creative ideas. This is an opportunity for creative exploration that your kiddo will not want to miss.

Character Creation + Ceramics

Dates: August 6 – 9, 2024

With Megan Phillips of Motormouth Ceramics

Do you have a favourite character? Bring them to life this summer with Megan Phillips of Motor-Mouth Ceramics. During this fun filled creative week young artists will take a look at famous favourite characters, share ideas, develop stories and acquire fundamental ceramic skills needed to take their ideas from paper to clay. No previous experience necessary.

*Ceramics will be ready for pick up 2-3 weeks after the last day of camp.

Collage to Mural

Dates: August 12 – 16, 2024

With Rachel Ziriada and Mikhail Miller of Nasarimba

Paper collage is a great way to create unique compositions and motifs. Join local artists, Rachel Ziriada and Mikhail Miller of NASARIMBA, for an art-filled week exploring paper collage and mural painting. Young artists will learn about mark-making techniques, shape generation and abstraction as we invite them to create their own collages – using them as starting points for larger artworks. Alongside these activities, we will work together to create a mural on plywood from start to finish.

This is a week you do not want to miss!
