Engaging Newcomer and Immigrant Art Professionals

Immigrant Council for Arts Innovation (ICAI)

The Immigrant Council for Arts Innovation (ICAI) cordially invites arts organizations, cultural and heritage organizations, artist-run centres, galleries, performing organizations etc to a virtual information session: Engaging Newcomer and Immigrant Art Professionals.

When: May 26, 2023 from 2 – 3:30pm
Where: Online
Free with registration: RSVP via Eventbrite

This information session will provide strategies, tips and best practices for supporting newcomers and immigrants working in the arts sector as internationally trained professional artist, arts managers, performers, culture workers, heritage workers, etc

We created this information session to create awareness within the arts community and to advocate for newcomers and immigrants working in the creative industry. In this session, we will share practical ways on how you can make your organization’s programs, calls for submissions and employment opportunities accessible to immigrants and newcomers who are professional artists and arts workers. You will also learn about our programs at ICAI and how we support and provide employment for these professionals.

Please RSVP here to attend this event. If you have any questions, please reach out to engagement@icaionline.org.

About ICAI

The Immigrant Council for Arts Innovation is an Alberta-based arts council. ICAI was established in January 2019, with the expressed purpose of connecting newcomer artists and arts and culture workers to the existing arts community in Alberta. ICAI actively encourages diversity of expression and culture by creating a safe and welcoming community where newcomer and immigrant art workers with distinct cultural identities feel confident to share their work in a new environment.
