The Alberta Society of Artists (ASA) is seeking an energetic and organized individual to join a small team of professionals in Calgary that manage and coordinate the ASA art exhibitions in Alberta.

Job Description:

  • Develops content for the ASA e-newsletter, website and social media platforms, to create awareness about ASA, upcoming exhibitions and events.
  • Acts as the liaison for program delivery; contacting artists, volunteers, venues, etc. on behalf of the Program Coordinator.
  • Designs and produces posters and labels for exhibitions.
  • Assist with the reception and hanging of exhibitions.
  • Assist with administrative work which includes assisting in the preparing agenda and meeting minutes for Provincial Council board meetings.


The position is open to Alberta residents 15 years of age or older, who attended a high school or a post-secondary institution in 2018/19 and are returning to school full time in the following year (no later than November 1, 2019).

Relevant Field of Study/Interest: Visual arts, art history, arts management, graphic design, communication or marketing.

Start Date: May 1, 2019 – July 23, 2019
Wage: $15/hr

This is a full-time temporary contract with 35  hours a week, Monday to Friday (8:30am to 4:00pm)
