Have you ever read a book and thought “I want to write something like that”? Do you have a story in your head that you want to share with the world, but have no idea how to actually get it down on paper?
From common genres and styles to creating compelling characters and learning how to employ literally devices, this two-hour beginner workshop with published writer Tereasa Maillie will leave you with the foundations you need to write that story!

About the Instructor Tereasa Maillie
Tereasa Maillie (she/her) is a historical researcher and writer living in Calgary, Alberta. She holds a Masters from Athabasca University in heritage and social history. Tereasa’s areas of specialty are Metis, 2SLGTBQIA+, and local history. She’s passionate about storytelling in many forms, including writing plays, short stories and creative non-fiction, with multiple pieces having been published and performed.
Tereasa currently sits as the president of the Alberta Playwrights’ Network.
